Elora Mill Wedding

To put it bluntly, Leanne & Greg’s fall wedding day at Elora Mill was cold and rainy – not weather you’d hope for. Thankfully, that didn’t matter because it was a gorgeous, incredible wedding day in every other way. If the weather bothered Leanne & Greg, they didn’t show it. The bride & groom were smiling and laughing all day long and enjoying the beautiful celebration of marriage that it was, surrounded by their endless friends and family.

By the end of the night, I couldn’t head home without asking Leanne & Greg to join me for a few minutes outside for a romantic night portrait on Mill Street W. The historic romance the Elora Mill adds to a wedding day is beyond compare and is what raises it toward the top of my favourite wedding venues ever. If you’re looking for a unique wedding venue rich with history and character, I can’t recommend Elora Mill enough.

Wedding Ceremony at Elora Mill Foundry

Leanne & Greg’s wedding ceremony was bright and warm in the Elora Mill Hotel & Spa’s beautiful, industrial Foundry building. The Foundry building is rich with character. The exposed wood beams, hardwood floors, brick fireplace and unique chandeliers makes the space inviting, and a beautiful backdrop for you to say your vows. Elora Mill is one of Pearle Weddings’ many spectacular wedding venues in Southern Ontario. Pearle Weddings doesn’t overlook a single detail and the experience is always top notch.

For everyone’s comfort, we stayed indoors for family photos. Thankfully, the space was toasty by the wood-burning fireplace, and perfectly picturesque. The rain slowed enough for me to invite Leanne & Greg’s large wedding party and a few newlywed photos at Elora Mill’s rustic, outdoor Riverside Chapel, just next to the Foundry and across the river from the main Elora Mill building.

We all headed over to Victoria Park, a short walk from the Mill. Leanne & Greg even took my advice to take a short hike down to the edge of the flooded Irvine Creek for photos, among the vibrant autumn leaves. After a chilly portrait session in the Elora Gorge, we returned to the warm, dry and gorgeously decorated Granary Building.

Wedding Reception At Elora Mill Grand Room

The Grand, on the top floor of the Granary, welcomed Leanne & Greg’s guests with another gorgeous fireplace, elegant chandeliers, large industrial windows, massive sliding barn doors and wooden ceiling. The Grand can accommodate up to 200 guests. Sat across long harvest tables, guests enjoyed touching speeches, a delicious meal, and ended up on an energetic dance floor. I was excited to see that the Jewish tradition of the Horah brought a ton of energy to the centre of the room, as the bride and groom were lifted toward the ceiling on chairs. I loved capturing the excitement and energy this moment brought to the wedding reception and the expression of terror in Leanne’s face as she was lifted above everyone’s heads.
