Hi, I’m Ben!

I bring over a decade of experience as a wedding and engagement photographer in Kitchener-Waterloo to guide couples through a fun, easy-going photography experience, focused on capturing your connection authentically.

Why Work With Me

A Relaxed Experience

I take the pressure off by turning your session into a fun, easygoing experience. No stiff poses, just the two of you being yourselves, looking your best while enjoying the moment.

Real Connection

I ask thoughtful, open-ended questions throughout your session that get you talking (and maybe laughing) in a way that brings out your real connection, so the photos feel just as personal as the connection they represent.

Great Practice

Not sure what to do with your hands? You’re not alone. An engagement session is the perfect way to shake off the nerves and get comfortable in front of the camera. So when the wedding day comes, you already know what to expect and it all feels way easier.

Your Most Important Resource Or Guide

Introduce a helpful guide for potential clients. For a wedding phtographer this might be your area’s best wedding venues or a guide about eloping in your area.

Frequently Asked Questions

Conservation areas and wooded walking trails are some of my favourite engagement session locations, but you can really go anywhere – a beach, a city street, a petting zoo, or a carnival. While planning your engagement session, I will gladly send you a list of a few of my favourite locations for engagement sessions.

Golden Hour, the time just before sunset, is the best time for engagement photos on a clear day. The angle and colour of the light is more flattering and romantic – perfect for the vibe I’m going for. If your session is in a very shady, or indoor location, the time of day is less important.

Wear something that makes you feel your best, and something you can move around in. Formalwear is best suited to urban locations and casualwear is best for natural environments. We’ll be walking quite a bit, so wear shoes you can comfortably walk in. Bring as little as possible. Leave anything you don’t absolutely need at home or in your vehicle when you arrive. Even phones and wallets can create unsightly bulges in pockets. Since I’ll often capture cute moments of you walking from one location to the next, bringing a bag can also disrupt the flow of your session.

Of course! Pets are part of the family and can absolutely be included in your photos. However, regardless of how well-behaved your dog is, it’s vital to the success of your session to bring an extra person along to your session who can help with your fur-baby. Once you know your dog is in good hands, you will be able to focus on each other and your human connection.

I have more answers! Send me an email and we’ll make sure all of your questions are answered before your session.
